Wout van Aert shares career highlights as NFTs

Team Jumbo-Visma, Wout van Aert and Momentible teamed up to create digital artworks of the victories on the Mont Ventoux and the Champs-Élysées in the 2021 Tour de France and 2020 Strade Bianche. Starting with an auction on November 12, these moments can be owned by someone else.

The NFTs were curated and created by Momentible and will be auctioned on OpenSea, the largest NFT marketplace. All details can be found on Momentible.io. The auction will end on Tuesday, 16 November at 21:00 CET.

Van Aert is looking forward to the auction: “It is really cool that I can use this emerging technology to share my highlights with my fans. Hopefully, the new owners will enjoy it as much as I do.”

Ruud Dankers from Momentible: “For us, these moments as NFTs are the new generation of sports memorabilia that fans can collect and trade with anyone in the world thanks to blockchain technology.”

Momentible platform offers athletes and artists the opportunity to immortalise their highlights as NFT (non-fungible tokens) and provides buyers of the various NFTs with a digital asset that creatively portrays the historic moment. ‘In our eyes, athletes are the artists of legendary moments and deserve to be captured in the blockchain', Dankers, who leads the platform from digital sports marketing agency TDE, said.
