About Olav Kooij
In the cycling world, Olav Kooij is regarded as an up-and-coming talent. Kooij, only 21 years old, has been racing for Team Visma | Lease a Bike for the past two years after first competing for the squad's Development Team. The top sprinter has already been able to add several triumphs in various stages to his resume. Kooij experienced his greatest victory at the Tour de Pologne, which was also his first World Tour triumph. The sprinter achieved great success in 2021, winning a bronze medal at the U23 World Championships. Two years later, the young Dutchman managed to contribute to the team's historic season with 13 wins and a third place at the European Championships. Kooij is still under contract with the Dutch cycling formation until the end of 2025.
