In 2019, the then 22-year-old Jonas Vingegaard joins Team Visma | Lease a Bike In his first year as a professional cyclist, he shows he can cycle fast: Vingegaard wins the sixth stage of the Tour de Pologne. Two years later, in 2021, his big breakthrough follows. In the spring, he wins a stage in the UAE Tour and the Settimana Internazionale Coppi e Bartali. Furthermore, the Dane finishes second behind teammate Primoz Roglic in the Tour of the Basque Country.
