About Carlijn Achtereekte
Achtereekte is a top athlete at heart. The Dutchwoman started her career on the speed skating track and developed into a successful long-track speed skater. She won gold in the 3,000 metres at the 2018 Olympics.
Achtereekte switched from skating to cycling in 2022 and joined Team Visma | Lease a Bike. In June's Tour de Suisse, Achtereekte made her professional cycling debut. She also participated in the La Ceratizit Challenge by La Vuelta and the Tour of Scandinavia.
