Kramer outdoes himself in first year: "It went better than expected"
Jesse Kramer has finished his first year as a rider for the Jumbo-Visma Developm...
Anouska Koster and Marianne Vos have sprinted to fifth and sixth place, respectively, in a hectic finale to the fourth stage of the Tour of Scandinavia. Vos, who won the first three stages, retained her lead in the general classification.
The fourth stage took place on undulating Norwegian roads. Amber Kraak's mountain jersey was not jeopardised with two third-category climbs on the menu. In fact, she even grabbed extra points and strengthened her leading position as a result.
Riders attacked throughout the stage, but a leading group of the day never materialised. Team Jumbo-Visma was alert and jumped along when needed. In the final, Koster attacked with four other riders. This group remained out of the peloton's reach and was, therefore, able to sprint for victory. Vos won the sprint of the pack.
Race coach Carmen Small: "We are happy that we still have the leader and the mountain jersey with Marianne and Amber. The last few kilometres didn't quite go as planned, but we'll continue tomorrow with renewed courage."
