Team Jumbo-Visma finishes second stage Giro d'Italia safely

Team Jumbo-Visma has finished the second stage of the Giro d'Italia safely. The second day ended in a bunch sprint despite a late crash that did not affect the yellow-black formation. Jonathan Milan took the win. Primoz Roglic crossed the line in the same time.

"It was a stage where nothing happened until the crash", sports director Marc Reef said. Edoardo Affini, among others, kept Roglic well in the front in the hectic final and stayed out of trouble. Nevertheless, it was a tense moment for Reef as well. "The crash happened quite close to the front. Luckily we were not involved."

"We have to continue to make sure that we protect Primoz well."

"It was a stage we had to get through safely", Reef continued. "We managed that. We have to continue to make sure that we protect Primoz well. We discussed it a lot, and I think the guys did an excellent job today. These finals are always hectic because all the teams want to keep their classification riders safe. We can all take confidence from this, especially going into tomorrow's stage. There will be a lot of ups and downs in the final. It will be important to have a lot of riders at the front."
