Karlijn Swinkels has finished ninth in the third stage of the Simac Ladies Tour. In the race in and around Gennep, the Dutch rider took her second top ten result. Despite frantic efforts, Swinkels could not prevent losing the mountain jersey.
The stage went very fast, especially in the second part. "It was a super fast and hectic stage", Romy Kasper said. "Perhaps for the viewers at home, it was not the most interesting stage because, in many cases, no one wanted to take the initiative. The wind also played an important role today. We had to be alert all the time to keep Karlijn in front. In the stage's second part, a few riders tried to escape, but a bunch sprint was inevitable, in which Karlijn sprinted to ninth place."

Kasper is wary of tomorrow's stage. "It's going to be a very tough course. I see it as a mini Amstel Gold Race. It's up and down all day. I'm curious how the course will be. As a team, we still have to come up with a concrete strategy. We'll see if we decide to go for the attack or keep our distance with the classification in mind. It will be a completely different stage than the previous three."
