Van Emden transferred to Genk hospital on Wednesday
Jos van Emden will be transferred from Italy to a hospital in Genk on Wednesday. The Dutch rider will have to stay one or two nights for observation, after which he will hopefully be allowed to go home soon.
Van Emden crashed heavily on Sunday, in the fifteenth stage of the Giro d’Italia. He suffered five broken ribs, several abrasions, a lung contusion and a flesh wound in his side.
