Steven Kruijswijk extends contract with Team Jumbo-Visma until 2025

Kruijswijk (35) will remain an important rider in the grand tours for the Dutch World Tour team in the coming years.

From a surprise in the Giro d'Italia to a podium finish in the Tour de France: Kruijswijk and Team Jumbo-Visma have come a long way together in the seventeen years that the collaboration has already lasted. He is now regarded as one of the culture guards within the team. Both Kruijswijk and the team are therefore very satisfied with the extended collaboration.

Kruijswijk: “I am still full of motivation and am enjoying cycling a lot. The road we have taken with the team in recent years and the high level we reach play a crucial role. Even if I am no longer the absolute leader, I think I can still play a very important role in this team. I want to continue to be part of the team for at least another two years and I am very curious to see what we can all achieve in that period.”

Sportive director Merijn Zeeman agrees: “Steven has traveled a wonderful journey together with the team. From young talent to leader in grand tours. His third place in the 2019 Tour de France was the absolute highlight of his career. Both the team and Steven have now reached the next stage. Steven still has the level to play a very important role in the more difficult stage races and grand tours. In addition, his experience and tranquility are very important for the balance in the team. We are therefore very happy that our collaboration will continue even after this season.”
