Mud splatters in the picture: relive the victory of Wout in Boom
Mud, cool temperatures and rain: that was what Wout van Aert was presented with ...
Spring has officially started today. Campina traditionally celebrates the start of this new season by letting the cows out into the meadow. During the opening of the farming season this year, Patrick Roest had the honour of opening the stable doors on behalf of the Team Jumbo-Visma speed skating team.
Campina has been a proud sponsor of the Team Jumbo-Visma speed skating team since last season. The collaboration between the team of coach Jac Orie and Campina is a strong and logical match that brings together the traditional Dutch skating sport and the traditional Dutch dairy brand. For Patrick Roest, Team Jumbo-Visma skater and son of a dairy farmer, this collaboration is extra special.
"I grew up on a farm myself and to me meadows where the cows are grazing really belong to the Dutch landscape and spring."
"As farmers, we live with nature in all seasons and are constantly active in the open air: in winter, ice skating is part of that, I grew up with that. Eating dairy has also been brought up to me. I like it and it is also a healthy way to recover my muscles after a hard workout. For me as a farmer's son, the collaboration with Campina is a great match.”
For Campina, the three-time world champion was therefor the perfect candidate to perform the symbolic opening of the first day of spring on the farm in Baarn this year.
Top skater Roest thinks it is an honour that he can let the cows outside. “I prefer to spend a lot of time outside after the skating season, so I always look forward to the beginning of spring. I grew up on a farm myself and to me meadows where the cows are grazing really belong to the Dutch landscape and spring.”
Although the beginning of spring means the end of the skating season, Campina is happy to continue to use its expertise in the field of nutrition and Campina dairy products to help Team Jumbo-Visma to perform optimally all year round.
