Team Jumbo-Visma Academy organises Calvé Dutch championship schools

Team Jumbo-Visma Academy is going to organise the Calvé Dutch championship for schools during the Dutch championships road race around the VAM-berg in Drenthe on Friday 19 June 2020. Participants will battle in a pentathlon. The winning school will hold the title Dutch champion for a year. The championship contributes to the Academy’s goal to get more young people pick up cycling.

The national championship consists of a team time trial, a sur place race, a climb time trial, a virtual race and an agility course. Schools participate in a team of at least four and a maximum of six students, of which only one student is allowed to have a KNWU license older than one year.

Last weekend, Team Jumbo-Visma Academy was presented in Rucphen during the Dutch Cyclocross Championship. A cycling clinic was held on the cyclocross terrain on both Saturday and Sunday. The Academy takes the same clinic to secondary schools to make children enthusiastic about cycling.

Calvé Peanut butter: who didn’t grow up with it? Calvé Peanut butter is full of nutrients that have helped generations of Dutch people grow up. The brand is therefore closely linked to the activities of Team Jumbo-Visma Academy and supports the plan to introduce more children to cycling and hopefully help many children grow up in sports.
