Preview Tirreno-Adriatico

Tomorrow, the Tirreno-Adriatico starts. In ‘the race of the two seas’, Primoz Roglic is the team’s leader. The Slovenian rider won the UAE Tour a few weeks ago. Robert Gesink starts racing again after his participation in the Tour Down Under.

Sports director Addy Engels: “The Tirreno-Adriatico starts with a team time trial, so it’s important to perform well immediately. We won the team time trial in the UAE Tour. We started there with almost the same team, except for Tom Leezer. He will be replaced by Robert. Our focus is Primoz’ GC. Besides the team time trial, the time trial on the last day and stage four and five are really important.”

The Italian stage race starts with a team time trial and finishes with an individual time trial. Besides that, the race contains two stages for sprinters and an uphill finish. Stage four and five will finish after a tough local circuit with multiple small climbs.
